Maharashtra government has launched a new scheme for poor girls in the state named ‘Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana 2023-24(MKBY)’.

This Yojana has been launched by the State Govt. According to this scheme the government, the families whose economic status is weak can avail the benefit of this scheme. Maharashtra’s Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana 2023-24(MKBY) application form / registration form then get financial assistance up to 50,000 for girls.

Objective Of Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana 2023-24(MKBY)

To improve the girl child birth rate and promote women’s education, the Government of Maharashtra launched Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana 2023-24(MKBY) on 1st April 2016 across the state of Maharashtra.

Under this scheme, if the mother or father in the state undergoes sterilization within 1 year of the birth of a girl child, Rs 50,000 will be deposited in her bank account by the government in favor of the girl child. Additionally, under this Yojana 2023-24(MKBY), if the parents have adopted family planning after the birth of the second daughter, Rs 25000-25000 will be deposited in the bank in favor of both the daughters after sterilization.

Now to avail this scheme the age of the girl is 18 years, Must be 10th passed and unmarried. The mother or father of a girl child will be required to undergo sterilization within 1 year of the birth of a girl child or within 6 months of the birth of a second girl child. This scheme is very important for the education and health of girls in the state of Maharashtra, financial provision for their bright future, prevention of female infanticide, positive thinking in the society about the birth of girls, prevention of child marriage.

Under this Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana 2023-24(MKBY), parents in the state of Maharashtra who undergo sterilization within 1 year of the birth of a girl child will get a deposit of Rs.  50,000 from the government in her bank account.

To bring positive thoughts about the birth of girls in the society and to increase the birth rate of girls as the number of boys in the state is more. The government was thinking of implementing a new scheme ‘Meri Beti Bhagyashree’. Now this plan has been approved.

• Beneficiary Types of Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana 2023

“Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana 2023-24(MKBY)”  will get the following 2 types of beneficiaries:-

1)Beneficiary Type 1: There is only one daughter and mother has family planning.

2)Beneficiary Type 2: One daughter and after another daughter the mother has undergone family planning surgery. In such a situation both the girls will get benefits of type-2. However, in case of a son and a daughter, the benefit will not be admissible

Eligibility for Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana 2023-24(MKBY):

To avail this scheme the people of Maharashtra have to fulfill certain criteria which are as follows.

• Applicant must be permanent resident of Maharashtra.
• Mainly only two girls from one family in the state will get the benefit of this scheme.
• Annual income of families should be less than 7.5 lakh rupees.
• Poor class people and people from BPL category can also benefit from this scheme.
  While applying to avail the scheme
• Birth registration certificate of girl child will be required.
• Girl child must complete 18 years of age to avail the scheme.
• She must have passed 10th and must be unmarried till 18 years of age.
• In case of twin girls born during the second delivery, both the girls will be eligible for the scheme under Type-II.
