Breaking: Massive Earthquake Strikes Uttarakhand At 4 am! You Won’t Believe the Magnitude!

On Monday morning, an earthquake in Uttarakhand with a Richter Scale value of 4.0 occurred.

The National Center for Seismology (NCS) states that the earthquake’s epicenter was 48 kilometers northeast of Pithoragarh. At 9.11 am, it took place.

At roughly 4:08 p.m., a mild earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale rattled Delhi and the NCR sections, causing light vibrations.

At a depth of 10 km, the earthquake’s epicenter was located in Faridabad.

A 3.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded on October 15, 2023, at 16:08:16 IST. Latitude: 28.41, Longitude: 77.41, and Depth: 10 kilometers. Location: Faridabad, Haryana, 9 km to the east,” according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

However, the earthquake was rather mild, and only a few people on the upper floors of the high-rise communities felt it.

Experts claim that the national capital is located in highly sensitive seismic zone 4 with multiple fault lines running along the Aravali, which is why mild tremors are frequently reported.

The local network of NCS in Delhi-NCR detected over 30 earthquakes between April and August of 2020, which raised concerns, according to a report published by the Indian Academy of Science two years prior.

Data also reveals that around 15 earthquakes with a maximum magnitude of 3.8 in Jhajjar and a minimum magnitude of 2.7 in west Delhi in March of this year originated in Delhi-NCR over the previous 18 months.

The 6.7 magnitude Bulandshahr earthquake in 1957 was one of the most severe earthquakes ever in the area. However, the area contains several fault lines, which are weak areas where tectonic plates collide and cause minor seismic activity.
